| DAY FOUR |
 "Day Four" thoughts:
-Departed Amarillo, TX 9:15am CST.
-Very open terrain. Beautiful. (See photos)
-Not much else to report. Miles and miles between cities.
-New Mexico looks just like Mexico. It reminds us of Cabo San Lucas (minus the ocean).
-Saw thunderstorms in the distance. Lightening and all.
-Crossed the continental divide. (El. 7, 245ft) (Winston-Salem, NC is 839ft.)
-Speed limit is 75mph, but all I can go is 60-63mph. (Depends on the wind conditions.)
-Arrived Gallup, NM (El. 6, 506ft) 5:00pm MST. Our hotel is on old Rt. 66.
-Went to Wal-Mart this evening to get some bottled water. (Hotel water isn't so great here.) Wal-Mart is still a busy and dirty place, even in NM.
Until next time... (Needles, CA) check out "Day Four" pics on the photo page.
Enjoy!

Well, it looks like the price of gas went up in New Mexico. Did you try the 10 pack of tacos? Have fun on the 4th! Hope you can catch some fireworks wherever you stay tomorrow!
