THE FIRST ENTRY

WELCOME!
For those family & friends who are new to blogs, here are a few things to know:

1) A blog, by my own definition, is a web-based diary and/or soapbox that the whole world can read. If they ever wanted to. Blogs are updated as each "blogger" sees fit (when they have time or something to say/share). Some bloggers keep a regimented schedule (a daily or weekly basis). As far as this register goes, who knows? Just keep checking back for updates as often as you like.

2) "RSS feeds" are an easy way to keep abreast of the latest blog entries. If you "subscribe" to an RSS feed, a little number appears in the toolbar of your web browser when a new entry is posted. Mac users can click on the blue 'RSS' logo and then drag the 'feed' link into the favorites bar to subscribe. Windows users usually have a small orange 'Signal' Icon in the corner of their browsers' address field. When clicked, it should ask the user where he/she wants to put the link (which favorites folder or toolbar). If you'd rather not mess with RSS, you can just keep checking back to see if any new nuggets of information have been added.

3) The content of a blog can feature just about anything, including world headlines, comments on world headlines, personal goings-ons, site updates, factoids, jokes, musings, reviews & recommendations, fiction and photos. (The photos may or may not relate to the entry. Sometimes I just like to post pics that strike my fancy and tickle my pickle.) This one will have all of the above. Eventually.

4) This blog also offers a "comments" section where readers can leave snippets of retort, correction or kudos that relate to any given blog entry. If you'd like to leave us a message, just click the 'comments' link below each entry, type your message and click 'post.' You do not have to be a member to leave a comment; just select 'Anonymous' before you post.

5) If you have trouble viewing some of the pictures/graphics or can't access some of the features on this site, hold fast, you are probably a Windows user. You haven't done anything wrong, but you will have to wonder -- night and day -- what other secrets this site holds. (Mac users are also privy to much more than just the features of this site. I am always willing to hold a phone conference with any family or friend who would like to learn more about Apple products. Visit: www.apple.com)

6) If you EVER have ANY questions about this site or what's new with us, please send an email. Be sure to let us know what's going with YOU TOO!

7) There isn't a #7. I just wanted to end with an odd number.
