SPIDER-MAN 3's Company

We were part of the record setting crowd for SPIDER-MAN 3 this past Saturday and here is the first of many summer movie blog entries to come...

SPIDER-MAN 3
2hrs. 20min.
PG-13 (for sequences of intense action violence)
BRIEF THOUGHTS: Eh. The movie was perfectly on par with the first two. It was both equally bad and good. Of all the big summer franchises SPIDER-MAN is my least favorite. And while it's a fun watch in the theater, once is surely enough.
The Bad: The third installment is stylistically uneven and the story suffers from way too many ingredients. If it wasn't an already established SPIDER-MAN-brand movie, it would have sucked big-time.
The Good: It's big, noisy, fairly romantic and NEVER boring.

IN ADDITION: We saw SM3 in the famed Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. What an amazing theater! The domed ceiling, amazing sound, assigned seats and digital projection were great bonuses. The only problem we encountered was about 60 min. into the movie when the lights came up and the sound cut out. But with digital projection they were able to rewind the movie and get everything back up and running. (Can't rewind when it's film. See pics below.)

NEXT UP: SHREK 3 is on the to do list, as it's always a good time.
