| LOCAL EVENTS - Academy Awards |
All in all, a fine evening at the Oscars.
Most of the winners were expected, but a handful of disappointments still bugged me when I woke up this morning. These are the questions that top my "Really?" list:
• Cars didn't win Best Animated Feature? Really?
• Pan's Labyrinth didn't win best Best Foreign Language Film? Really?
• Guillermo del Toro didn't win best original screenplay for Pan's Labyrinth? Really?
Other than that, all is well enough. As for the big winner of the night, The Departed was well worthy of Best Film Editing, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture.
